The entire irrigation is controlled as required by soil sensors.

Better climate through more green spaces

Increasing green space is the best way to improve the climate in urban areas. Since open spaces in the city are rare and also very expensive, more and more vertical surfaces are used for greening – the Green Walls! The planting of the facade transforms it into a hanging garden.

Through this technically perfectly coordinated irrigation method – made by Raintime – it has come to a lush growth of plants and after only ten months (including winter dormancy), the plants have taken the entire trellis.

Technical data of the irrigation system

Size of the galvanized metal troughs 300 cm x 60 cm and a height of 70cm (16 pieces)
Control Irrigation: IQ Miniserver
Sensors: 10 IQ sensors with two measuring points each and with a separate temperature measurement
Flow control is via an ultrasonic water meter
Digital weather station for
* Air temperature
* rel. Humidity

Further technical data

Irrigation pipes: pressure compensated (0.5 to 4 bar)
Drip tube with 2 liters per hour per dropper
Drip interval is 33 cm

Cost of project implementation

The cost of a sensor-controlled irrigation of this magnitude amounts to between € 12,000, – and € 15,000, – incl. VAT for a mounting time of about three to five working days.
