Automatic irrigation system for facade greening

A project for BOKU (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences) Vienna – Facade greening main building.
\nThe entire irrigation is controlled as required by soil sensors.

Better climate through more green spaces<\/h3>\n

Increasing green space is the best way to improve the climate in urban areas. Since open spaces in the city are rare and also very expensive, more and more vertical surfaces are used for greening – the Green Walls<\/strong>! The planting of the facade transforms it into a hanging garden<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The possibilities of optimal irrigation methods of Raintime<\/h3>\n

Many years of experience in sophisticated projects with ambitious and innovative solutions in the field of irrigation allows us to implement a project like this successfully<\/strong>, on time<\/strong> and on budget<\/strong>. We implement projects of all sizes with innovation and technical precision.<\/p>\n

Through this technically perfectly coordinated irrigation method – made by Raintime – it has come to a lush growth of plants and after only ten months (including winter dormancy), the plants have taken the entire trellis.<\/p>\n

Technical data of the irrigation system<\/h3>\n

Size of the galvanized metal troughs 300 cm x 60 cm and a height of 70cm (16 pieces)
\nControl Irrigation: IQ Miniserver
\nSensors: 10 IQ sensors<\/strong> with two measuring points each and with a separate temperature measurement
\nFlow control is via an ultrasonic water meter
\nDigital weather station<\/strong> for
\n* Air temperature
\n* rel. Humidity<\/p>\n

Irrigation pipes: pressure compensated (0.5 to 4 bar)
\nDrip tube with 2 liters per hour per dropper
\nDrip interval is 33 cm<\/p>\n

Cost of project implementation<\/h3>\n

The cost of a sensor-controlled irrigation of this magnitude amounts to between \u20ac 12,000, – and \u20ac 15,000, – incl. VAT for a mounting time of about three to five working days.
