At the Lerchenfelder G\u00fcrtel next to the Thaliastra\u00dfe subway station, Raintime fog technology is currently cooling what is probably the smallest “cool” road construction site in the city of Vienna. With the completion of the construction work, the quality of life here – with a place to linger and cool off – will be significantly enhanced.<\/p>\n

This is another project of the city in the fight against the climate and heat crisis. In a place like this, right on the hot belt, people will find a welcome cooling off in the future.<\/p>\n

The place where there was a snack stand before now offers the perfect area for a refreshing “cool” place in Ottakring<\/strong> after it has been removed. Perennial beds<\/strong> and trees<\/strong> are planted on around 130 square meters<\/strong>. In addition to single armchairs<\/strong>, double benches<\/strong> and a new drinking fountain<\/strong>, there are two fog steles from<\/strong> the Raintime<\/strong> company that invite people to refresh and to linger.<\/p>\n

Ottakring’s district chairman Franz Prokop: \u201cThe cool place is the result of an Ottakring initiative. We are thus also creating a place in the Thaliastra\u00dfe area to linger, cool off or simply chat with neighbors. Cool outdoor areas with fog technology<\/h3>\n

A cooling of the ambient temperature takes place with mist showers by the so-called evaporation cooling. This is created by pressing water through fine nozzles at high pressure. These fine water droplets (water mist) evaporate in the heat and cool down the ambient temperature.<\/p>\n
