That was 42 percent more than the long-standing norm <em>(source: <a href=\"https:\/\/de.statista.com\/statistik\/daten\/studie\/886131\/umfrage\/sonnenstunden-in-oesterreich-nach-staedten\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statista<\/a>)<\/em>. Regarding <strong>precipitation<\/strong>, there was <strong>59 percent less<\/strong> than the long-standing norm in Vienna in the same period <em>(source: <a href=\"https:\/\/de.statista.com\/statistik\/daten\/studie\/886121\/umfrage\/niederschlag-in-oesterreich-nach-staedten\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statista<\/a>)<\/em>. These values \u200b\u200bsupport the statements of climate researchers, who predict an increasing trend in temperatures for the coming decades.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Long-lasting heat waves<\/strong> with temperatures of up to 38 \u00b0 C were no exception last summer, but <strong>already the norm<\/strong>. <strong>Vienna<\/strong> is <strong>one of the top 5 cities in Europe<\/strong> that <strong>suffer<\/strong> particularly badly from <strong>global warming<\/strong>. <strong>Summer 2019<\/strong> was the <strong>second warmest summer since measurements began in 1767<\/strong>. In the capital cities of Vienna, St. P\u00f6lten, Linz, Eisenstadt and Klagenfurt &#8211; summer 2019 ended as the hottest in the respective measurement history.<\/p>\n<div class=\"component component-social-share \">\n<div class=\"social-share__wrapper social-share__wrapper--inline\">\n<h1 class=\"social-share__item social-share__item--facebook js-share\" data-provider=\"facebook\">Outdoor cooling<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In recent years, <strong>numerous measures<\/strong> for cooling with <strong>outdoor cooling<\/strong> such as <strong>fog showers<\/strong> have already been implemented in Vienna and further projects are already planned and are about to be implemented. The mode of operation of mist showers is also known as &#8220;evaporative cooling&#8221;. Water is pressed through fine nozzles at very high pressure (70 bar), creating fog. Sudden evaporation occurs, which lowers the ambient temperature because the water needs energy to evaporate.<\/p>\n<p>These <strong>modern high-pressure fog systems<\/strong> are versatile and can be <strong>used in both commercial and private areas<\/strong> &#8211; sidewalk gardens, terraces, gardens, pool areas, event locations \/ centers and the like. v. m. High-pressure mist systems \/ mist showers are characterized by their <strong>low water and energy consumption<\/strong>.
