AERIFY \/ VENTILATION
<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

The soil should be aerated before every sowing or fertilization<\/strong>, because this way, nutrients<\/strong> and water<\/strong> get directly to the roots<\/strong> where they are needed. Floor ventilation with special spikes that can be strapped to the shoes is particularly fun.<\/p>\n

SANDED<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

If the soil is too hard<\/strong>, water and nutrients can no longer be taken up for supply. Therefore, the ground should first be mowed and scarified i<\/strong>n order to then apply quartz sand<\/strong> to loosen it up by hand or with the fertilizer sprayer.<\/p>\n

SOIL ANALYSIS<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

A soil analysis can determine<\/strong> which nutrients are lacking<\/strong> in the soil and what is the best way to supply it. For example, ammonia or iron sulfate compensate for too alkaline soil. In order to restore the balance for a soil that is too acidic, however, a calcareous fertilizer is required for neutralization.<\/p>\n

IRRIGATION<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

NEW SOWING:<\/strong> The germinating seed and the top layer of soil must not dry out. Water abundantly every day and make sure that they do not form puddles, as these could wash away the seeds.<\/p>\n

ROLLING LAWN:<\/strong> If you have installed a rolling lawn, you should irrigate it so well that the water can penetrate through the lawn roll and reach the roots of the lawn. On average, you need around 20 liters of water per m2.<\/p>\n

Only if a soil is sufficiently watered<\/strong> can it produce a healthy, lush green lawn<\/strong>. How much water is required for a lawn is individual and depends on the temperature, humidity, location and type of lawn. On average, around 3 liters of water evaporate per m2 per day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The best time of day to water the lawn is early in the morning or late in the evening<\/strong>. At these times, the sun exposure and the associated risk of so-called “burning” is lowest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ideally<\/strong>, water your lawn less often<\/strong>, but sufficiently long and efficiently<\/strong>, because watering too often or too little allows the grass roots to develop flat<\/strong>, which means that the lawn can dry out very quickly.<\/p>\n
