PART 1<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

AERIFY<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Aerification is a technique<\/strong> for the ventilation<\/strong> of lawns<\/strong>. For this purpose, 5 to 9 cm deep holes<\/strong> with a diameter between 1 and 2 cm are made<\/strong> in the lawn with an aerating device. Through this process, which is also called “spikes”, the soil compaction is broken up<\/strong> and a gas exchange takes place. The holes<\/strong> are filled up<\/strong> with quartz sand<\/strong> – lawn seeds and fertilizer can also be added to the sand. When aerating, the lawn roots are better aerated<\/strong>, waterlogging<\/strong> and moss growth<\/strong> are cured<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

SOWING<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Basically, you can sow lawn all year round because the seeds are hardy. However, if the soil has a constant soil temperature of at least 10 \u00b0 C<\/strong>, better results can be achieved with faster germination<\/strong>. April<\/strong> and May<\/strong> are predestined<\/strong> to be sowing months, just like August<\/strong> and September<\/strong>. Before<\/strong> sowing, the soil<\/strong> must be prepared<\/strong> accordingly and weeds removed<\/strong>. A spade<\/strong> or a hoe<\/strong> is very suitable for this work. If the last pieces of root or stones are also the planum<\/strong> can be made. The soil<\/strong> is leveled lengthways and crossways<\/strong> with a roller<\/strong>, remaining unevenness can be leveled out with a wooden rake. This completes<\/strong> the preparatory work<\/strong> and, after a rest period of a few days, sowing can begin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When it comes to seeds<\/strong>, the focus<\/strong> should be on quality<\/strong>. Some lawn mixtures germinate quickly but do not form a dense turf. The seeds are evenly spread<\/strong> by hand with a slight swing to match the intended area. A gritter is ideal for a very even result. Then rake<\/strong> with the wooden rake and<\/strong> roll<\/strong> in the transverse and longitudinal directions with the lawn roller. The sowing is completed<\/strong> with a very productive irrigation<\/strong> and the germination period of one to three weeks<\/strong> – depending on the weather – begins.<\/p>\n
