For a beautiful, lush green lawn, optimal care and irrigation are essential. When it comes to watering, even many amateur gardeners are often unclear on how much and how long they should water their green. It may be surprising that even after a thunderstorm, it is usually advisable to water the lawn. Why? Because the soil should get so much water that it is moistened 15 to 20 inches deep.<\/p>\n

We’ll tell you what to look for in lawn irrigation and care, so that it is optimally strengthened and prepared for the upcoming winter months.<\/p>\n

Lawn CARE in the fall<\/h1>\n

MOWING<\/h3>\n

Only at a soil temperature of nine degrees does grass growth cease. Until then, the lawn should be mowed regularly. We recommend that you do not undercut a cutting length of 5 centimeters. This is the only way the soil can maintain part of its protection, prevent frost from penetrating, and protect the root area. In addition, regular mowing represents the very best prevention of possible diseases.<\/p>\n

TIP!<\/strong>
\nMow only dry grass. Especially in the autumn, the lawn is often dewy until the morning hours and pay attention to this when programming your robotic lawnmower.<\/p>\n

SCARIFYING<\/h3>\n

Air and light are hugely important to the ground, so you should cut all the leftovers out, remove the felt, and scarify the lawn. When scarifying, you should always make sure that no roots are damaged.<\/p>\n

FERTILIZE<\/h3>\n

Do not forget the autumn fertilization! Potassium is the ideal autumn fertilizer, because it strengthens the plant cells, makes them more resistant and frost-resistant.<\/p>\n

Lawn IRRIGATION in September<\/h1>\n

With late summer temperatures around 30 \u00b0C and dry weather we recommend the weekly summer watering of 25 l \/ m\u00b2. If the temperatures are around 20 \u00b0C and a morning dew is clearly visible, you should reduce the water intake to 15 l \/ m\u00b2 per week.<\/p>\n
